Going Back in Time

We spent some time, following a Father's Day brunch with friends, at a pioneer history day. Ben was able to hammer out an "S" hook with a blacksmith, and Sarah was able to go into a pioneer house which is usually closed for visitors.

We watched them fire off weapons from the Spanish-American War, Civil War and World War I, and the kids were able to collect and keep bullet casings. It was a treat to listen to the fife and drum, and talk with everyone dressed up in costume.
