Summer Handwriting

One of our goals this summer is to work on handwriting for both kids, but mostly for Ben. We have a normal handwriting workbook, but we try to make it interesting. Today we filled pie plates with flour and sugar, and they had to create all the letters of the alphabet. They loved it. The sugar plate had some advantages over the flour if you needed to lick your finger, but the flour held the letter shape better. It is supposed to be good for helping their brains to think more about the shapes of their letters. Since we are old homeschoolers, we can't really stop learning and we are pleased to be on track with our summer learning plan.
