Today is the day Sarah will have the expander removed from her mouth. It has just been amazing to see how quickly it pushed her teeth to a wider position, making room for other teeth to slide or come in at a better position. It is a metal piece, attached to her top back molars, with an adjustable part across the roof of her mouth to slowly press out and widen her top teeth. In the last seven months, her tongue has done a lot of the work to push teeth to the ideal position. It really made a noticeable difference in just the first month. Once her mouth was widened, she did have some braces on four front teeth to pull them in and straighten them. She isn't sure what to do with her tongue once the expander is out. Next month she will get her braces off too.

Laura just had her expander put on Friday. She is cranking it herself already but the first few days were bad. We are hoping to avoid the braces. Good job Sarah!
