The
tiny party for Sarah's
BIG 10th birthday was in our home this afternoon. Let's just say the party was a hit with all of the smiling and giggling girls. They were giggling from the time they came in the door!
We started off at the small

tables with a small memory game where the kids had to try to remember several tiny items after they were covered. Next we moved on to decorating donuts. Since it was a tiny party, we had dishes of
Cheerios to decorate with frosting and sprinkles.
Then the kids created candy flowers in flowerpots made with ice cream cone bottoms. Strangely a lot of the frosting and flower materials seemed to disappear. Hmm...

Our small dinner was tiny sub sandwiches (better known as breadsticks) with tiny sandwich fillings. Sarah worked really hard ahead of time to cut tiny sandwich items, and cut the cheese just like at Subway restaurants, only smaller. We also served drinks in tiny cups and had some of the new mini-Pringles which were a perfect addition. After eating, they created tiny books and wrote with tiny pens. To top off the tiny party, Sarah had an small ice cream cake made from an ice cream bar. We were challenged to fit 10 skinny candles on the cake, but we did it!
Let's just say this wasn't a sugar-free event. Although the food was all tiny, they managed to eat plenty. We were sad to say good-bye to all the girls. They were just wonderful and I think this was one of the most fun parties we can remember. The best part was our birthday girl had a great time.

We took a group photo after two girls left early, so we don't have one of everyone. Ben didn't mind being the only boy, and was really encouraging as the girls worked on their tiny projects.
I'm thinking of just having another tiny

get-together so use up some of the remaining small candies and such. The memory game was really fun and everyone would have fun with it again if we mixed up the items. We ran out of time at the party for a game of tiny Pictionary where the kids would use tiny 1.5" papers for drawing with their new tiny pens. Now we have a stack of tiny paper just waiting for a tiny game. Maybe this will inspire you to try something tiny at your home.
The party was a hit largely due to our friends. Thanks to all the families allowing their girls to come on what turned out to be a very busy day for everyone. A special thanks to Jan & Ethan for helping create some marvelous small items for decoration and to use in our memory game. Also, thanks to Jan & Khai-Ling for letting us borrow small tables and chairs. One more thanks to Sarah's school librarian for the tiny book idea, and for letting us check out all of the
American Girl tiny idea books.
