After enjoying blueberries for a few hours, and taking care of some Sabbath School projects at home, we put on our red shirts and went to the 4th of July downtown. We didn't spend very much time, but it was a delightful day, and considerably cooler than last year (110 last year, 88 this year). The park was cool with the shady trees, and we ran into a lot of friends. We were feeling patriotic with our red shirts.
Shortly after the park outing, we went to Adam's house for homemade ice cream. There were several families, and we noted the boys were outside playing basketball and scooter, and the girls were playing quietly inside. Yes, we had fresh blueberries on our ice cream. Most of the other families had been picking today too!The kids enjoyed a group worship as Friday ended. The discussion included thoughts of religious freedom and all we have to celebrate in our country. We have a lot to be thankful for and many reasons to celebrate.
We decided to go see some fireworks before heading home. Our Sabbath started with a bang this week! Clint & Becky have a busy Sabbath morning with some extra responsibilities, so we were glad to finally get to sleep.
