Traditions

Life seems to be full of traditions, and our life is no exception. We have built a tradition with Charmaine's family to do fireworks together in front of our home to celebrate Independence Day.

The kids love the snappers and snakes. We had a big pile of snakes this year, and they had fun make two grow together. They are hesitant with the sparklers, but willing to try. Sarah was hit by a spark before, and all the kids remember it. Ben has never liked fireworks that shoot out sparks or make loud noises. Well, this means he is not happy with most fireworks. He is a safety nut and just doesn't think it is a good idea to have them close to us. He is wise, and it helps to ensure we are extra cautious.

We each come with several fireworks and take turns showing them to the kids. This year we did some on Thursday the 3rd, and more on Saturday night the 5th. We were very happy with the selection this year, and agreed to continue our tradition next year.
