Play Ball!

Our big event of the day was attending a baseball game featuring the Round Rock Express. They are the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros. We chose to sit on the berm beyond right field. It was a great evening to be outside! It cooled down a bit before we headed over to the stadium.

We were feeling very happy most of the game as the Round Rock Express demonstrated a firm control of the Oklahoma Redhawks. We cheered, we danced, we stretched, we shared snow cones (yes, a favorite Texas activity), and played Dutch Blitz during slow moments.
The Express was rolling along with what appeared to be a game-winning lead until the 9th inning. Yes, suddenly in the 9th we had a tie game! We gave it our all, but we couldn't do enough to pull the Express back on the tracks. After 11 innings, we were heading home with some disappointment at our team's loss. We were still glad about the whole game experience in spite of the heartbreaking loss at the end.

Later we were excited to discover we could spot ourselves on the TV coverage of the game! James had recorded the game and we scanned it to see if we were on TV, and we were there several times. The only odd thing is Becky was often turned around when the camera swept our way. Not sure why she was camera shy tonight.
